What is Adolescent Counselling?
Adolescent Counselling offers a safe and secure place for adolescents to expressing their thoughts and be heard. The counsellor is skilled to help young clients explore their feelings, thoughts and behaviours. Together, the adolescent and the counsellor will discuss possibilities, solutions and learn new coping skills and strategies.
Some of the issues teenagers may have to overcome include:
- Feeling lonely, depressed, insignificant, or inadequate
- Trouble communicating with others
- Feeling frustrated and angry often
- Feeling rejected by peers
- Struggling with life choices
- Lack of impulse control
- Self-harm
Adolescent Counselling helps the transition from being a child to maturing into an adult. It offers a guiding hand to the adolescent as the journey may be challenging.
